Learning to Ski & Snowboard

Private Ski and Snowboard lessons tailored to your own requirements, from a complete beginner or nervous intermediate, right through to the advanced skier looking to develop carved turns and beyond.

You can progress at your own pace, on your own or with family and friends. Teaching can be more intense and focused so less time than a course is needed to develop your skills.

Couples or groups of similar mixed ability are welcome provided there is not too bigger gap in standards. A complete beginner with someone who has not skied or boarded for many years can be a good combination, and a nervous intermediate with a parallel skier looking to improve can also work well together on a lesson.  Please call or pop in to discuss if you are unsure of your level. Wide differences in abilities, plus skier & snowboard lessons can NOT be mixed, and a separate lesson/instructor will be required.  

Private lessons are available all year round for skiing or snowboarding and allow the flexibility to arrange the lesson during any opening times (except Saturdays before 12pm).

Lessons are for one hour with a minimum age of 7 years for skiing (kindergarden and infant ski lessons are available for 4-6 years - please see below) and 12 years for snowboarding.

Booking is essential - we recommend booking in advance but please give us a call and we will try and accommodate you at short notice where possible.

GROUP DISCOUNTS

Another great way of enjoying your lessons is to get together with your friends, club, association or work colleagues and arrange a group lesson.

We can take up to 60 for skiing groups and a maximum of 8 snowboarding. If you’re planning a group holiday or would like to get your friends to have a go, a lesson together is great fun. After the lesson you could use The Lodge Bar to have a meal or drink to really finish off a great outing.

Please be sure that you are all of a similar standard. Same conditions as Private Tuition apply.

COURSES

Ski or Snowboard with others of the same ability. Informal, fun and friendly.

Courses are in groups of up to 12 people and are 3 x 2 hour sessions on set dates. We operate these courses from September to March only, new course dates will be available from August of each year for the following season.

We offer Ski courses for Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced and also Beginner Snowboard courses.

LEARN IN A DAY COURSES

Learn to ski or snowboard in one day… 6 hours of intense tuition with set breaks.

For people aged 14 and upwards. Must be fit enough to cope with the strenuous tasks.

Example 1 - Ski or Snowboard lesson for 2 Adults (£42+£15) would be £57 or equivalent of £28.50 each

Example 2 - Ski lesson for Family of 4 - 2 Adults & 2 Children (£42+£15+£11+£11) would be £79 or equivalent of £19.75 each

Little Skier Private Lessons - Age 4 to 6  

We provide ½ hour private ski lessons for 4 - 6 years olds.

The aim of these sessions is introduce little ones to skiing and familiarise them with the equipment, in a fun and safe environment.

Please note that whilst our aim is to teach basic skiing skills, parents should not expect progression to other slopes and main lifts until children are at the age of 7.

Cost for 30 minute lessons are £28 and £8 for any additional children.

SATURDAY KINDERGARDEN is also available for 4 - 6 year olds!

TASTER SESSIONS

Great as a gift or for those who just want to try a new and exciting sport!

We are obviously a little bit biased, but in our opinion once you’ve tried skiing and spent some time up in the mountains you’ll be hooked for life! The other great thing about skiing is that you do not need to be particularly sporty or an adrenaline junky to learn to ski and enjoy it.  Our taster sessions start with a brief talk on the equipment and safety, followed by 45 - 50 minutes out on the slope as an introduction to skiing.  A nice and simple way to try a new sport and see if skiing is you!  

All equipment is included in the price!

All you need to bring is yourself and any old pair of gloves! We ski and board in the cold, warm, wind, rain, ice and even snow sometimes, so just dress accordingly for the weather with your arms and sleeves covered. If you have a nice long pair of ski socks, stick them on to enjoy your ski experience that little bit more!!

So you are thinking about having some ski or snowboard lessons - whether you are a complete beginner, have done a bit many years ago, or you are thinking its about time you improved those skills, we have a range of lessons and courses available to suit you.

The techniques you learn on an artificial slope are identical to snow and put you in great shape for the snowy slopes, and will definitely help you get more from your winter holiday or trip to a uk snowdome!

The main difference with snow is that the skis or snowboard will glide easier and faster, but once you’ve had a couple of runs you’ll soon adjust. The advantage of artificial slopes is that conditions and slopes remain fairly constant which is great for learning, whereas the snow and piste conditions can vary hugely.

Oh….there’s also the added bonus that you can learn on your doorstep at a fraction of the cost, with our friendly, qualified, English speaking instructors!
